About the Role
Scandivans is looking for a skilled and motivated Bench Joiner to join our growing workshop team. You will play a key role in producing high-quality furniture and interior components for our bespoke campervan conversions.
Working from detailed construction drawings, you will be responsible for manufacturing cabinetry and interior elements using both traditional woodworking techniques and our CNC machinery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and enjoys working on unique, high-end projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture furniture, cabinetry, and interior components from technical construction drawings.
- Operate and oversee CNC machinery to accurately produce parts and components.
- Assemble and finish furniture to a high standard.
- Interpret workshop drawings, cutting lists, and specifications.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure all components meet Scandivans' standards.
- Prepare, machine, edge, sand, and finish a variety of materials including plywood, laminates, solid timber, and composite boards.
- Work closely with the design and production teams to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Assist with workshop organisation, maintenance, and stock management.
- Identify and resolve manufacturing issues before installation.
- Contribute ideas and improvements to manufacturing processes and product development.
Skills & Experience RequiredEssential
- Previous experience as a Bench Joiner, Cabinet Maker, Furniture Maker, or similar woodworking role.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience using CNC machinery in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience with CNC programming and toolpath generation.
- Experience within campervan, marine, automotive, or bespoke furniture manufacturing.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of modern furniture construction methods and lightweight materials.
