Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, supporting various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The successful candidate will be involved in a range of outdoor tasks, ensuring the upkeep and development of green spaces and construction sites. Duties
- Assisting with landscape maintenance, including planting, pruning, and turf care
- Operating hand tools and power tools safely for various tasks such as digging, trimming, and material handling
- Using mechanical equipment such as excavators for earthmoving and site preparation
- Installing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure efficient water distribution
- Supporting construction activities by preparing sites, moving materials, and performing basic groundwork
- Conducting routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency
- Assisting with general gardening duties including soil preparation, planting, and weed control
- Ensuring all work areas are kept clean and organised in compliance with health and safety standards
Requirements
- Previous experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction or maintenance equipment is advantageous
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery such as excavators
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and general site maintenance practices
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials when necessary
- Good organisational skills with a focus on safety procedures
- A proactive attitude with the willingness to learn new skills within construction and gardening disciplines
- Relevant certifications or qualifications related to construction or horticulture are a plus but not essential
Pay: £20.00-£21.00 per hour
