Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionist/Administrator to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing exceptional front-desk support, managing patient appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the administrative functions within the medical practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and previous experience in an office or administrative environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care while developing your career within a supportive healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment
Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using practice management software
Handle patient check-in and check-out processes accurately and promptly
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with data protection regulations
Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls appropriately
Process billing, payments, and insurance claims with precision
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and correspondence organisation
Support the clinical team with general administrative duties as required
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and welcoming at all times

Skills

Proven office experience with strong organisational skills
Previous administrative experience within a healthcare or similar environment is desirable
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in using office software programmes such as MS Office (Word, Excel) and practice management systems- ideally using Vision
Ability to multitask effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail
Friendly demeanour with a professional attitude towards patients and colleagues
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently

This role is ideal for individuals who are proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute positively to a busy medical practice. The successful candidate will be integral to delivering high-quality patient care through efficient administrative support.

Pay: £13.20 per hour
