Job Overview
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Multi-Skilled Tradesperson with a demonstrable background in Carpentry to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and construction, demonstrating proficiency in various techniques and using different tools.
We take on a variety of projects, so you must be happy getting stuck in with different projects not solely carpentry. The role involves working on diverse projects from 1st/ 2nd fix carpentry to hand cut roofs, garden structures to extensions and renovations.
You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality workmanship whilst adhering to safety standards.
Duties
- Construct, install and repair structures and fixtures
- 1st/ 2nd fix carpentry
- Roofing work including hand cutting roofs, tiling and lead work ensuring weather-tightness and durability.
- Using hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks (access to own tools is required)
- Ensure work is plumb, level, to design and in accordance with building codes
- Possible masonry work
- Collaborate with other trades and contractors onsite to ensure project timelines are met
- Possible painting prep and finishing
- Handle heavy lifting safely during the transportation and positioning of materials or equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety regulations.
This list is not exhaustive, the nature of our work means you will be doing other types of work, not exclusively carpentry.
Requirements
- Experienced multi-skilled tradesperson. Proven experience in carpentry with strong knowledge of joinery techniques.
- Proficiency in use of and access to own hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on-site where necessary
- Knowledge of other trades i.e plastering, bricklaying and tiling is advantageous
- Strong understanding of building codes and health and safety standards within construction environments.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and problem solve.
- Excellent attention to detail, customer focused and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work around Shropshire and Staffordshire
- Must possess a full driving licence and own vehicle
