The Grand Hotel is looking for an experienced, proactive, and reliable Housekeeping Team Leader to join our expanding team. As one of Torquay’s premier 4-star destinations, we pride ourselves on delivering a flawless environment and exceptional service for our guests.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated leader to oversee high-quality cleaning operations and room preparation. As a Team Leader, you will act as the bridge between management and the housekeeping staff, ensuring the department runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Team Supervision: Directing the daily workflow of Housekeeping Assistants, assigning floor sections, and ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule.
- Quality Assurance: Conducting rigorous inspections of guest bedrooms and public areas to ensure they meet our impeccable 4-star standards.
- Training & Development: Mentoring new team members and providing ongoing coaching to ensure the highest levels of service and hygiene.
- Stock Management: Monitoring linen levels and cleaning supplies, reporting any shortages.
- Reporting: Identifying and reporting maintenance issues or damages promptly to the maintenance department.
- Schedule: Includes regular weekend shifts to meet the needs of our busy hotel.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Significant experience in a housekeeping or professional cleaning environment is essential. Previous experience in a supervisory role is highly preferred.
- Leadership Skills: The ability to motivate a team, manage time effectively, and handle the pressures of a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Eye for Detail: You have an uncompromising standard for cleanliness and take pride in the "little things" that enhance the guest experience.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills.
- Reliability: A consistent and professional approach to your responsibilities.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: Up to £13.00 per hour
