Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Ground Worker/Labourer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with various site activities, supporting the smooth operation of construction or landscaping projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in the construction industry while contributing to diverse projects. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.

Duties

Assisting with site preparation, including clearing and levelling ground surfaces
Loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment as required
Assisting with the mixing and application of materials such as gravel, soil, or concrete
Supporting skilled tradespeople by carrying out basic tasks and ensuring work areas are safe and tidy
Digging trenches, holes, or foundations under supervision
Maintaining health and safety standards on-site by adhering to safety protocols
Operating basic tools and machinery as instructed
Assisting with the transportation of materials around the site using wheelbarrows or small vehicles

Skills

Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour over extended periods
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team
Basic understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks
Previous experience in construction or landscaping is advantageous but not essential
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Valid UK driving licence is a plus but not mandatory
