Admissions Manager

Oxford School of English is looking for a confident, detail-oriented and people-focused Admissions Manager to join our friendly and dynamic team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the running of one of the UK’s leading English language schools. Welcoming students from over 70 countries each year, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding service and support from the first enquiry through to arrival and throughout the student journey.

As Admissions Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the admissions process, including student registrations, bookings, fees and related administration. You will work closely with the Accommodation Manager on all student bookings to ensure students receive a well-organised, accurate and welcoming experience.

The role reports directly to the Principal and will involve close collaboration with the academic, accommodation and wider school teams.

What You’ll Do

Manage the admissions process from enquiry and booking through to student arrival.
Maintain accurate student records, registration information and booking details.
Work closely with the Accommodation Manager to coordinate all student bookings and ensure accurate information is shared across departments.
Manage office systems that support student registration, admissions and school operations.
Support the administration of the Junior Summer School as required by the Principal.
Manage incoming and outgoing payments, including student fees, accommodation charges and supplier invoices.
Support budget management, income and expenditure tracking, and financial forecasting in collaboration with the Principal and senior team.
Monitor and report on aged debts.
Liaise with academic and accommodation teams to ensure timely and accurate data sharing.
Respond to emergency queries as part of a shared out-of-hours rota.
Continuously review and improve admissions procedures and systems to support efficiency and excellent service delivery.
Provide a professional, friendly and helpful service to students, agents, parents and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in admissions, administration, office coordination or operations, preferably in a busy environment — Essential
Strong understanding of financial administration, including payment processing and reporting — Essential
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines — Essential
Excellent communication skills with a professional, friendly telephone and email manner — Essential
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling bookings, payments and student data — Essential
Confident user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook — Essential
Ability to interpret and manage financial data to support effective decision-making — Desirable
Previous experience in education, admissions or working with international students — Desirable
Additional language skills — Desirable

Additional Information

Enhanced DBS check required for all staff.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
Appointment is subject to references and background checks.
Occasional weekend work may be required, with additional pay where applicable.
This is an on-site working position due to the nature of the role.
