Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, supporting diagnosis and treatment planning, and promoting oral health education.

Duties
- Carry out comprehensive periodontal assessments and oral health examinations.
- Perform professional dental hygiene treatments, including scaling, root surface debridement, polishing, and stain removal.
- Deliver Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) where appropriate.
- Provide personalised oral hygiene instruction and preventative advice to patients.
- Support diagnosis and treatment planning by communicating clinical findings to the dentist.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient clinical records.
- Operate dental equipment safely and efficiently, including digital imaging systems where required.
- Adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols, ensuring the surgery is maintained to the highest standards.
- Promote oral health awareness through patient education and preventative care initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the wider dental team to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification as a Dental Hygienist from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) is essential.
- Previous experience in a dental practice is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided where required.
- Knowledge of periodontal assessment, treatment planning and preventative dentistry.
- Familiarity with digital dental software and imaging systems is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and motivate patients.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy clinical diary efficiently.
