Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Locum Hygiene professional to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential hygiene services, ensuring patients receive top-quality care in a welcoming and professional environment. This temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient well-being while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced setting. Your expertise will help maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and patient comfort.

Duties

Perform thorough dental hygiene procedures including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth using hand tools and power tools.
Assist with patient assessments, including oral health evaluations and charting.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all hygiene equipment is functioning properly.
Maintain accurate patient records, documenting procedures performed and any observations made during appointments.
Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Support the dental team with additional tasks as needed, including inventory management of hygiene supplies.

Qualifications

Proven experience in dental hygiene or related healthcare roles, with familiarity using hand tools and power tools for dental procedures.
Construction or general maintenance experience is a plus, demonstrating comfort with manual tasks and tool handling.
Strong knowledge of infection control standards and sterilization techniques.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Certification or licensure as required by local health authorities for dental hygienists or equivalent roles.
