Job Title: Junior Purchasing Assistant
Location: Oxford
Department: Procurement & Accounting
Reports to: Procurement Manager
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000
Benefits: Bonus scheme, company pension, 24 days paid leave (excl. statutory holiday)
Job Type: Full-time (On-site, office-based)

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our team. This is a key role at the heart of the business, helping to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

You’ll be responsible for making sure the right products are ordered at the right time, at the right price, while working closely with suppliers, sales, admin, and warehouse teams.

If you enjoy variety, problem-solving, and being the person who keeps things on track, this could be the perfect role for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

Raising and managing purchase orders from start to finish
Building strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating the best value
Keeping a close eye on stock levels and avoiding shortages
Coordinating deliveries to keep the warehouse running smoothly
Handling invoices and resolving any discrepancies
Keeping teams updated so everyone stays on track

What We’re Looking For

Junior-level candidate is acceptable, what matters most is the right attitude, willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to work. You’ll need to be comfortable using computers, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook (desktop version). Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage (or similar programmes) would be preferred.

The role requires:

Highly organised with great attention to detail
Confident communicator who can build relationships
Able to juggle tasks and stay calm under pressure
Proactive mindset you spot problems before they happen
Previous experience is a bonus, but attitude matters more
