Job Summary:
Kind, patient person wanted in North Oxford to join me (a mature student with chronic health challenges) for ~30 min slow morning jogs from ~7:15am (plus 5–10 min wait possible), 3–7 days/week. £14/session. Late June–early Aug 2026, preferably student living closeby

Responsible for:
Meeting me in front of my student accommodation, allowing a short 5–10 min wait if needed (hopefully rarely), joining me for ~30 min slow morning jogs on agreed days. Friendliness, punctuality and reliability much appreciated — and hopefully you'll experience some enjoyment and benefit too :-)

Job description

Role: Morning Jogging Companion (self-employed, volunteer, no employment)

Location: NorthOxford (meeting near APCOA car park, Fyfield Road - Oxford, OX2 6QE, exact spot shared once in touch.

Duration: 28 June–9 August 2026 (flexible a couple days either side)

About me: I'm a mature student from abroad (fluent in English) temporarily living in Oxford. I have a chronic health condition that makes getting up reliably in the morning very difficult and challenging for me. Running helps me enormously, but motivating myself to start in the day is the hard part — knowing that a paid running compannion is waiting outside and will join me makes all the difference. Once I'm moving and my circulation gets going, I'm completely fine: I can get up and walk independently and don't need any other support. I may need an extra 5-10 minutes to get ready, so the start time can slip a little, but I will always try my best to be on time.

Your Tasks

Meet me in front of/ near my flat at the agreed time on agreed mornings
Run with me at a comfortable pace for ~30 min
(slow, but 30 min several mornings a week may be demanding if you've never jogged)
Some chatting is welcome; especially at start — I sometimes listen to music too and am happy to adapt to your preference as well.

Desired candidate profile
Reliable, considerate, punctual, empathetic, friendly, fluent in English, living in Oxford, preferably close to mentioned APCOA parking, and with at least a basic fitness level. No prior experience needed, I'll explain everything on day one.

Schedule
Weekdays from 7:15 a.m., weekends from ~7:45 a.m. (could be a little earlier if you cannot make it otherwsie).

I run 6-7 times a week and am happy to share the schedule between two people — so anything from 3 to 7 mornings of availability is an option. The more flexible you are about possible days, the better.

Payment
£14 per session, paid in cash or by bank transfer — either after each run or weekly, whichever you prefer. You will be responsible for your tax matters. It does not meet employment critieria, since the arrangement is flexible, no qualification needed, exact time is also flexible, how you fulfill the task as well, it is temporary and total paid amount under monthly threshold. The payment for time includes any short wait, if I need a few extra minutes to get ready. Travel to the meeting point isn't separately reimbursed.
