About the Role

We are looking for a well-organised and proactive Engineering Assistant to provide administrative, project and operational support to the Engineering Manager.

This is a varied role supporting engineering activity across the business, including documentation control, project coordination, internal communication and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play an important part in helping the engineering function run efficiently, ensuring records are accurate, actions are followed up and project deadlines are achieved.

The Role

As Engineering Assistant, you will support the Engineering Manager with the day-to-day coordination of engineering tasks, project workflows and documentation. You will help maintain engineering records, support project tracking, assist with document control and liaise with colleagues across departments to ensure engineering actions are progressed effectively.

This role would suit someone with strong administration, organisation and communication skills who is comfortable managing multiple tasks and working in a busy engineering or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Engineering Manager.

· Maintain engineering records and project documentation.

· Control the issue and revision of engineering documentation.

· Support the planning, coordination and tracking of projects.

· Follow up on actions to help ensure project deadlines are achieved.

· Help manage engineering requests from the shopfloor and escalate issues where required.

· Support continuous improvement projects aimed at improving quality, efficiency and productivity.

· Liaise with internal departments to gather updates, information and project requirements.

· Ensure documentation is accurate, up to date and stored correctly.

· Contribute to the smooth running of the engineering department.

Essential Skills and Experience

· Previous experience in an administration or project support role.

· Strong organisational and planning skills.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

· A proactive and professional approach to work.

· Good attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable Skills and Experience

· Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

· Knowledge of engineering document control processes.

· Understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.

· Experience supporting projects, production teams or technical departments.
