About Us
In Vino Veritas is an independent wine bar in Hackney, East London. We focus on small producers, lesser-known wine regions, indigenous grape varieties, and wines that customers are unlikely to encounter elsewhere.
Alongside a wine list of over 80 wines from across the world, we host regular tastings, producer events, themed evenings, and private events. Our goal is to create a welcoming space where people can discover something new while enjoying great wine, beer, cocktails, and hospitality.
The Role
We are looking for a freelance Content Creator & Social Media Manager to help build awareness of In Vino Veritas and establish it as one of London's most interesting destinations for wine lovers.
A key part of the role will be communicating what makes us different. Our focus is on unusual grape varieties, lesser-known wine regions, independent producers, and wines that customers are unlikely to find elsewhere. We want to create content that educates, entertains, and gives people a reason to travel to Hackney specifically to visit us.
You will be responsible for creating and managing content across Instagram and TikTok, helping to grow awareness of the venue, promoting events, and developing content that showcases both the atmosphere of the bar and the unique wines we offer.
This is a hands-on role combining content creation, photography, videography, editing, social media management, and event promotion. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of our social channels while bringing fresh ideas and creative thinking to the business.
Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and publish high-quality photo and video content for Instagram and TikTok
- Film and edit short-form video content including reels, event highlights, wine features, producer stories, and behind-the-scenes content
- Edit photography and video to maintain a consistent visual identity across all channels
- Develop educational and storytelling-based content around unusual grape varieties, wine regions, producers, and winemaking styles
- Help communicate what makes In Vino Veritas different from other wine bars
- Build awareness of the venue amongst wine enthusiasts across London
- Create and maintain a content calendar
- Design promotional graphics, posters, and social media assets for upcoming events
- Promote wine tastings, producer events, themed evenings, and private hire opportunities
- Occasionally attend evening events to capture photo and video content
- Grow our audience through organic engagement and community building
- Monitor analytics and recommend content strategies based on performance
- Assist with occasional paid social campaigns where appropriate
About You
- Previous experience creating content for hospitality, food and drink, lifestyle, retail, events, or independent brands
- Strong photography, videography, and editing skills
- Able to independently film, edit, and publish professional-quality content
- Proficient with editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop, Canva, or similar
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills
- Understands how to build a brand rather than simply manage social media accounts
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects
- Familiar with Instagram, TikTok, Meta Business Suite, and social media analytics
- Comfortable spending time in a busy hospitality environment capturing content
Bonus Points
- Wine, beer, spirits, hospitality, or events experience
- Experience growing accounts organically from a relatively small following
- Experience working with independent businesses, start-ups, or newly launched venues
- Interest in wine, food, culture, design, or creative industries
