Join the Adam Handling Family. We're looking for an Executive Chef for our restaurant and bar, Ugly Butterfly. We want to elevate our offering and be at the level of our sister restaurant, Michelin-starred Frog in Covent Garden.

We see Cornwall as a hidden gem in this fabulous country, so we only use what we find inthe South-West of England from our fisherman, farmers and suppliers, keeping our menu hyper-local and traceable.

Job Summary
We are looking for a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead our team and oversee all aspects of food creation and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in luxury dining, with a passion for sustainable British food. You will be responsible for working alongside Chef Adam and Chef Director Jamie for menu development and you will lead food preparation and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This role requires excellent leadership skills to manage and inspire a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise kitchen team, providing guidance and training to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including stock management, food production, and quality control.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment.
Collaborate with front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and high quality of guest experience.
Manage food costs and portion control to maintain profitability, while delivering exceptional quality.
Foster a positive team culture through effective communication, motivation, and leadership.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry.
Strong supervisory experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Extensive knowledge of food production techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
Demonstrated ability to create menus that cater to various dietary needs while maintaining creativity.
Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
