We’re looking for a Senior Formulation Chemist to join our growing team in Paignton, England. This full-time role is ideal for someone with strong formulation experience who can lead development work, support junior team members, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to the creation of innovative, commercially successful beauty products. Applicants must have authorisation to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Lead the formulation development process, including designing experiments and analysing results to optimise product performance.
- Conduct scientific research to innovate and improve existing formulations, ensuring they meet regulatory and quality standards.
- Oversee quality control procedures, ensuring all products comply with GMP and CGMP regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development projects, providing technical expertise and guidance.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Perform laboratory experiments, including stability testing, raw material evaluation, and process validation.
- Support troubleshooting activities related to formulation issues or manufacturing deviations.
- Ensure laboratory safety protocols are adhered to at all times, fostering a safe working environment.
Experience
- Proven experience in a laboratory setting specialising in formulation chemistry or related fields.
- Extensive knowledge of scientific research methodologies within the pharmaceutical or cosmetic industries.
- Demonstrated expertise in quality control processes aligned with GMP and CGMP standards.
- Strong background in biochemistry, product development, and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Previous laboratory experience with a focus on developing innovative formulations and conducting stability studies is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining meticulous documentation. Pay: £26,538.50-£52,142.04 per year
