Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Night Health Care Officer to provide high-quality care and support during overnight shifts within a care home environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of residents, while maintaining compliance with care plans and organisational policies. This role offers an opportunity to utilise leadership skills and make a meaningful difference in the lives of senior residents.

Duties

Monitor and assist residents throughout the night, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Administer medication in accordance with care plans and document all actions accurately.
Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing first aid or calling for additional support when necessary.
Supervise and support junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment.
Maintain detailed records of resident care, incidents, and observations using IT systems.
Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
Assist with organising activities or routines that promote residents’ comfort and engagement during night hours.
Ensure the safety of the premises by conducting regular checks and reporting any hazards or concerns.

Experience

Prior experience working in a care home or senior care setting is highly desirable.
Supervising or leadership experience within healthcare environments is advantageous.
Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members.
Proficiency in IT systems utilised for record keeping and reporting.
Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties related to resident outings or appointments.

This role requires a compassionate individual with excellent organisational skills, capable of supervising staff effectively while maintaining high standards of resident care during night shifts. The position offers an enriching environment where your leadership can significantly enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
