Overview
J W Grant is an established builders’ merchant, and we are looking for an experienced Yard Worker - Forklift Operator to join our branch.
This role is only suitable for candidates with previous industry experience who are confident in handling building materials and working in a fast-paced trade and retail environment.
The Role
- Serving trade and retail customers in a busy builders’ merchant branch
- Operating Forkifts
- Picking orders and safely loading/unloading vehicles
- Handling a wide range of building materials
- Keeping the yard clean, organised, and secure
- Following health & safety procedures at all times
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working in the industry is essential
- Good knowledge of building materials
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of health & safety in a yard environment
- Forklift License
Other Pay & Benefits
- £13.52 per hour (40 hours)

Working Hours
Full-time Monday to Friday 07:30 - 16:30 + alternate Saturdays from 08:00 until 12:00
Location
- Kilmarnock, KA3 – must be able to reliably commute or relocate before starting
