Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering and cooking, with previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in food and meal preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
Support the cooking process under supervision, ensuring timely delivery of meals
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Help with inventory management by organising supplies and notifying relevant staff of stock levels
Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and efficient manner when required
Support the team during busy periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food preparation and safety procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Basic culinary skills with a willingness to learn new techniques
