Job Summary
After an exciting few months of expansion including moving into a new premises, we are seeking an experienced mechanic to join our small and friendly team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be able to use their initiative, thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for car repairs and maintenance. As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that vehicles are in the best working condition. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our customers. This is a relaxed garage where a sense of humour and team work is important, whilst qualifications are preferred they are not essential, the right person with the right experience is far more important to us. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and recommend necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
- Utilise diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot vehicle problems accurately.
- Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools and power tools as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment at all times.
- Work alongside parts suppliers to order parts and maintain good wokring relationships.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair various vehicle systems.
- Be able to perform more complex repairs such as wet belts, timing chains and head gaskets.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
- Having your MOT testing certificates is desirable or be willing to work towards it.
