As we prepare for our next phase of growth and innovation, we have an incredibly exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Stock & Quality Controller to join our Central Production Unit based in Park Royal.
The Role:
The Warehouse Stock & Quality Controller is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of inbounding product quality and safety. Additionally responsible for ensuring accuracy of all stock throughout all warehouse operation. This includes monitoring the Goods In, Internal Stock, and Goods Out processes to ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and legal standards. The Warehouse Stock & Quality Controller ensures the continuous and accurate flow of goods across all warehouse functions,
safeguarding both operational efficiency and product integrity. This role demands precision, analytical thinking, and a passion for continuous improvement. You will play a key role in maintaining the quality ecosystem of the warehouse, ensuring that products flow seamlessly, data remains accurate, and every item that leaves our warehouse meets our standards. The role is one of three Sock & Quality Controller roles collectively covering the full operational window.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify the visual quality and accuracy of all incoming items from suppliers and internal transfers.
- Ensure all products meet company and customer specifications, including Correct Use By dates and compliance with Minimum Life on Receipt (MLOR) requirements. Proper pallet configuration, labelling, and presentation. Ingredient and packaging quality in line with company standard.
- Scrutinise pallet configuration ensuring stability, labelling accuracy, and warehouse space optimization.
- Conduct quality checks on ingredients, packaging, and presentation for conformity to specifications and escalate NC (Non-Conformance) as required.
- Drive data integrity by maintaining real-time traceability across all inventory records.
- Audit internal stock regularly, ensuring FIFO discipline and optimal rotation across all storage areas.
- Identify and investigate variances, trace root causes and collaborate on preventative actions.
- Monitor environmental controls such as chiller / freezer temperatures, and product segregation compliance.
- Instigate quarantine and non-conformance processes where required ensuring full documentation and assisting in close out.
- Validate outbound accuracy, confirm product condition, labelling, and dispatch documentation before release.
- Perform precision stock counts to ensure data accuracy and system alignment.
- Support internal and external audits, providing clear, evidence-based compliance reporting.

- Challenge existing workflows and recommend measurable process improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Supply Chain, and Operations to strengthen end-to-end quality control.
- Lead warehouse teams on best-practice handling, labelling, and quality awareness based on company standard.
- Conduct vehicle inspection as per all SOP’s to make sure offloading and unloading meet required standards.
- Enforce compliance frameworks with precision and professionalism.
- Maintain a zero defect mindset, ensuring all goods meet spec before they reach customers/stores.
- Balance speed with accuracy, protecting both operational KPIs and brand reputation.
- Champion continuous improvement, using data-driven decision-making to elevate warehouse quality standards to improve efficiency, accuracy, and product quality.
- Support sustainability goals through accurate stock rotation, waste reduction, and packaging control.
- Lead by example, embedding a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement across the warehouse.
- Support delivery of the Wasabi Seiyaku (ESG pledge) within the warehouse.
- Promote sustainable, responsible and safe working practices across teams.
Our Requirements:
- Good understanding of Goods In, internal storage and Goods Out processes
- Strong working knowledge of FIFO / FEFO, MLOR and stock traceability principles
- Experience operating in a food safety–regulated environment (e.g. BRCGS, HACCP, ISO or equivalent standards)
- Clear and confident communicator, able to challenge non-compliance professionally and constructively
- High personal integrity, with the confidence to uphold standards consistently
- Strong numerical skills
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar digital stock systems
- Experience within a ready-meals, fresh food or temperature-controlled warehousing environment
- Exposure to internal or external food safety and quality audits
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) or equivalent
