Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dispensing Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of optical anatomy and laboratory processes, providing exceptional service to our clients while ensuring the accurate fitting and dispensing of eyewear. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the vision and comfort of our customers through expert advice and tailored solutions.

Duties

Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and lifestyle needs.
Accurately fit and adjust spectacles and contact lenses to ensure optimal comfort and vision.
Conduct measurements for frame selection, including pupillary distance and segment height.
Maintain an organised inventory of eyewear products, ensuring that all items are well-stocked and displayed attractively.
Provide education to customers regarding lens options, coatings, and care instructions for their eyewear.
Collaborate with optometrists to ensure seamless patient care, including managing prescriptions and follow-up appointments.
Perform basic laboratory tasks such as edging lenses and assembling eyewear as needed.
Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology to provide informed recommendations.

Skills

Strong knowledge of optical anatomy, including understanding prescriptions and lens types.
Familiarity with laboratory processes related to lens fabrication and eyewear assembly is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to customers.
Attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and fittings for optimal customer satisfaction.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.
