An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-time or Full-time Band 6 Clinical Studies Officer to join the Neuroprogressive and Dementia Network (NDN) within NHS Lothian.
This post offers the chance to become part of a dedicated research delivery team based at the Western General Hospital. The team is actively involved in the coordination and delivery of a diverse portfolio of clinical trials across a range of neurodegenerative conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, progressive supranuclear palsy, mild cognitive impairment, vascular dementia, and Huntington’s disease.
The NHS Lothian NDN team forms part of a Scotland-wide research delivery network funded by the Chief Scientist Office. The Network’s primary aim is to support and facilitate the efficient set-up and delivery of high-quality clinical trials in dementia and neurodegenerative diseases across Scotland. The Network is led nationally by Dr Tom Russ, NHS Lothian Old Age Psychiatrist and NDN Champion and by Jacqui Kerr, Network Manager based within NHS Tayside. Locally in NHS Lothian, the team are led by Jessica Crossan, Senior Clinical Studies Officer and Dr Gordon Duncan, NDN Lothian Clinical Lead and Consultant Geriatrician.
