We are looking for an Outpatients Clerk/Hospital Receptionist Apprentice who can provide a timely, accurate and responsive service to the Medical Records/Outpatients Department and Hospital Reception at the Yeatman Hospital in Sherborne.
You should have excellent interpersonal and IT skills as the position requires the use of several different patient administration systems, and constant contact with the general public.
Experience Requirement
Previous experience in Medical Records and Outpatient systems , while this may be advantageous it is not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
DBS Requirement
The successful applicant will be required to undergo a DBS check, in line with all staff working in patient-facing roles.
Study Time / Apprenticeship Flexibility
Study time will be offered to support apprenticeship learning. This would be considered based on service needs and individual circumstances.
This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week over five days between the hours of 09:00-17:00.
Flexibility is essential to cover service requirements between the hours of 08:30-17:00 as required.

The main duties will be covering Main Reception desk, making and changing patient appointments, outcoming clinics, maintaining office supplies via e-procurement systems, dealing with patient enquiries in person and by telephone, processing clinic change notifications as directed by line manager.
Assisting the team by sharing skills and knowledge with colleagues to maintain best practice.
