Company Overview

Due to continued growth and several new contracts, we are looking for an experienced Trailer Technician to join the team at Stephenson Commercials.

We are a dynamic, rapidly expanding, family run company maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to a very high standard. We service and repair trucks and trailers for several local and national haulage companies. Our services include diagnostics, call outs, fabrication, recovery, servicing, MOT preparation and general repairs.

Summary

The Trailer Technician position is vital to our mission of maintaining high standards in vehicle safety and performance. Based in Darlington, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing company dedicated to excellence in the transport sector.

Responsibilities

As a Trailer Technician / Fitter , your key responsibilities will include: Carrying out trailer servicing, maintenance, repairs, inspections, and breakdown support as required.

Preparing trailers and commercial vehicle equipment for MOT inspections and compliance checks.

Undertaking repairs and servicing at customer sites, diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical trailer faults.

Following company procedures, safe systems of work, and Health & Safety regulations.

Mandatory skills include mechanical knowledge, welding, electrical experience, fabrication, use of hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting, and maintenance expertise.

Hours are 07.30 to 16.30 Monday to Friday and Saturday morning. Saturday hours can be negotiated at interview to accommodate family life.
