Cymru Quarry Group are suppliers of granite & limestone aggregates, asphalt, readymix concrete, liquid screed as well as construction services such as road resurfacing & civil engineering, operating all over Wales.
We supply quarried materials, stone, concrete, readymix and tarmac from seven granite, limestone and sandstone quarries, three asphalt plants, eight concrete plants. We also deliver multimillion pound infrastructure projects and suppling the majority of the labour as well as the materials from our own resources. Our employees are skilled in road surfacing, paving and utilities works.
Based in South Wales, operatives will be required to work safely and productively, producing high quality work. Contract work with government & local authorities, domestic & commercial clients, working all around South Wales.
Experience in the industry is desirable for this role.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Demonstrate good general labouring skills, including the safe use of wheelbarrows and shovels, groundworks, and setting ironworks.
- Carry out pre-start checks and report any defects in line with company procedures to ensure all plant and equipment are safe to operate.
- Operate plant and machinery safely in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer guidelines, including loading and unloading machinery up to 3 tonnes.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and always comply with company-specific risk assessments.
- Safely secure and strap down plant and equipment for transport; training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently using own initiative and provide additional support to colleagues, yard operations, and surfacing teams during quieter periods.
- Be willing to work overtime and unsociable hours when required
- Maintain a positive attitude and work effectively as part of a hardworking team
Person Specification
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Telehandler/Forklift licence preferred; training can be provided.
- Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle - Essential.
- Class 2 licence - Desirable.
- CSCS qualification - Desirable.
