Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational performance. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Mechanic will play a vital role in minimising downtime and supporting the smooth running of our operations.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before failure occurs.
Repair and replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised tools.
Interpret technical schematics and mechanical diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs and assembly tasks.
Perform assembly work on new or repaired equipment, ensuring all parts are correctly fitted and secured.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems efficiently to minimise operational disruptions.
Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, or installations as required.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repair status or technical issues.

Skills

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively.
Experience in assembly, disassembly, and repair of machinery or equipment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy components.
Good understanding of maintenance procedures and preventive measures.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
