Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of machinery and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Applicants should be committed to delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Duties

Diagnose faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools
Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre replacements
Repair and replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Conduct comprehensive equipment repairs to ensure safety and efficiency
Assemble new parts or components as required for vehicle repair or maintenance tasks
Utilise welding skills for structural repairs or modifications
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs
Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or machinery as needed
Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities for each vehicle or piece of equipment
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and offering advice on vehicle care

Skills

Strong understanding of schematics and technical manuals
Mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems and machinery
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Experience in assembly, disassembly, and reassembly of mechanical parts
Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks efficiently
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
Good customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients
Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
