Job Purpose
The Transport Co-ordinator is responsible for planning, organising, and monitoring transport operations to ensure goods delivered efficiently, safely, and on time. The role involves coordinating drivers, vehicles, routes, and schedules while ensuring compliance with transport regulations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules and delivery routes.
- Allocate drivers and vehicles to jobs based on operational requirements.
- Monitor transport activities to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
- Communicate with drivers, customers and suppliers regarding delivery schedules.
- Track vehicles using GPS or fleet management systems.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations
- Handle delivery issues, delays, or route changes quickly and effectively.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules.
- Support cost control by optimising routes and vehicle usage.

- Good IT skills (transport management systems, Excel, tracking software)

Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in logistics, transport coordination, or fleet management
- Knowledge of transport regulations and driver hours rules
- Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS)
