Quest Global looking for Senior Configuration Engineer to support our customer requiremetns as listed below

Position Description (high level summary, 2 – 3 statements)

Long term accountability for the configuration management of all designs (product, test rig and software) at Client requirements.

Administer, maintain and develop change management processes as appropriate.

Provide administration and additional PLM implementation support to the business, including training and mentoring.

Reporting directly to the Engineering resource manager for function and delivery as the PLM SME (Subject Matter Expert).

Core Duties (Key Day to Day Tasks, ideally 10 – 12 points)

Ensure software configuration meets Clients internal, legislative and security requirements and aligns with current processes.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) on configuration engineering and use of Teamcenter.
Support the definition and creation of workflows and best practices within Teamcenter.
Develop and maintain user guides and training material to support the use of Teamcenter.
Hold regular training sessions with the engineering teams.
Identify and implement process improvements and drive a continuous improvement culture.
Monitor and manage licence usage and ensure licence compliance.
Support cross functional system integration with other software platforms e.g. SolidEdge, Ansys, SAP, MS Office.

Functional Knowledge (Requirements for knowledge of functional work and activities)

Strong understanding of Configuration Management principles, concepts, practices and standards.
Experience of working with Teamcenter and/or other PLM system in an administrative capacity.
SAP aware / user would be beneficial.
Understanding of security classification and its impact on the functionality within PLM is beneficial.

Work Experience

Business Expertise (Requirements of the position for knowledge and expertise about the business rather than the technical expertise)

Collaborative and proactive approach to ways of working within cross functional teams.
Knowledge of BOM structure/ change control, Engineering and Manufacturing business processes.

Leadership (Requirements of the position for providing leadership and guidance to others)

Ability to provide one to one training or group training sessions.
Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver to completion, within agreed timescales.

Problem Solving (Breadth of mental skills required to perform the position)

Ability to troubleshoot with a logical, analytical approach to problem solving.

Nature of Impact (Impact on business by detailing the overall responsibility associated with the position)

The role will be instrumental in the ongoing use of Teamcenter within David Brown defence and the configuration and requirements management of IP for all future projects.

Area of Impact (Business area impacted Delivery/Functional)

Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Assembly.

Customers (Requirements and Specifications).

Interpersonal Skills (type of people skills required to perform the position)

Delivery : Time and workload management – ensure delivery is on time and to plan.

Ensure all delivery aspects are justified and communicated appropriately and to the right levels within the business.

Influencing:

Demonstrate experience and proficiency communicating at all levels.

Proficiency in stakeholder management.

Able to provide practical support and guidance to help others, enabling them to succeed within their roles.

Collaboration:

Provide logical, data driven justification to obtain buy-in from cross functional team and stakeholders.

Co-operate and collaborate when delivering work to meet agreed plans.

Develop trusted relationships which support delivery of business objectives

Experience working with Teamcenter or similar PLM / configuration System

Preferred: Degree in engineering related subject
