Van Guard Accessories Ltd (part of Bott Group) are a leading UK manufacturer of premium van accessories, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Assembly Line Lead to support our growing operations. With over 50 years of British manufacturing expertise, we pride ourselves on innovation, quality, and exceptional customer service.
We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Assembly Line Lead to oversee day‑to‑day production activities, support team performance, and ensure our manufacturing line runs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys leading people on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Line supervision — Lead, coordinate, and support assembly line operators to meet daily production targets.
- Quality control — Monitor product quality, perform checks, and escalate issues promptly.
- Workflow management — Organise tasks, allocate labour, and maintain smooth production flow.
- Training & coaching — Train new team members and reinforce best practices.
- Health & safety compliance — Ensure safe working practices and adherence to company policies.
- Problem‑solving — Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement.
- Reporting — Track production metrics and communicate performance to supervisors.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions
- Good understanding of production processes and quality standards
- Comfortable working with KPIs and reporting tools
- Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure
- Basic computer literacy (e.g., production systems, spreadsheets)
Desirable
- Experience in Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement
- Mechanical or technical aptitude
- Previous team‑lead or supervisory experience

- Annual salary of £29,000 + Profit Share Scheme after successful completion of probation.
- No weekend shifts: Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 17:00 and Friday 08:30 - 16:00
