Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist to join our independent veterinary practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers an opportunity to work within a compassionate environment, supporting both pet owners and veterinary professionals.

Responsibilities

Greet clients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
Manage appointment scheduling and confirm upcoming consultations
Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and handle client communications efficiently
Maintain accurate and organised patient records in compliance with confidentiality standards
Process payments, issue invoices, and manage financial transactions accurately
Support veterinary staff with administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations
Keep the reception area tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies

Skills

Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently
Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
Proficiency in using computer software relevant to reception duties
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about animal care who wish to develop their skills within a supportive veterinary team.

Pay: £12.85-£13.85 per hour
