Front of House ManagerThe Oak at CurthwaiteOverview

The Oak at Curthwaite is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Front of House Manager to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a natural leader who is passionate about hospitality and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will oversee the day-to-day running of our front-of-house operation, lead and support the team, and help create the warm, welcoming atmosphere for which The Oak is known.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily front-of-house operations, ensuring every service runs smoothly and efficiently.
Lead, motivate and support the front-of-house team to deliver consistently high standards.
Welcome guests, build positive relationships and ensure every visitor receives attentive and friendly service.
Handle guest enquiries, feedback and concerns professionally and promptly.
Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate service and maintain clear communication between front and back of house.
Organise staff rotas and assist with recruitment, training and ongoing team development.
Ensure the restaurant, bar and guest areas are clean, well presented and ready for service.
Maintain excellent knowledge of the food and drinks menus, helping the team make confident recommendations to guests.
Monitor stock levels, support ordering and help minimise waste and control costs.
Support functions, special events and busy seasonal services as required.
Lead by example, creating a positive working environment built on teamwork, accountability and mutual respect.

Skills and Experience

Previous supervisory or management experience in a restaurant, pub, hotel or similar hospitality setting.
A strong understanding of front-of-house service and day-to-day hospitality operations.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, train and develop a team.
A warm, confident and professional approach to guest service.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
The ability to remain calm, positive and decisive during busy services.
Good commercial awareness, including an understanding of stock management, staffing and cost control.
Knowledge of licensing, food hygiene and health-and-safety requirements.
Experience with booking, till or EPOS systems would be beneficial.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
