Customer Assistant (Specialist)

Rate: £12.80

Location: Westgate House, Brunswick Road, Penrith, CA11 7JU

Hours: 22.5 + hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Working pattern

We have part time positions available with contracts of 22.5 and full time hours of 36.75 per week. You will be required to work weekdays and one day of the weekend.

As part of your contract, we ask for availability that is, as a minimum, one and a half times your weekly hours. For example, if you were on a 10-hour contract, we would ask for 15 hours of availability. This doesn’t mean you will work 15 hours (unless there is overtime available, and this may be offered to you) but your shifts may be placed anywhere within the availability you provide. This helps us build fair, consistent rotas, and ensures we can meet customer demand across the week. With this role being in Retail, you must also be available to work one late night and one weekend day per week.

You will have at least 2 weeks’ notice of when your shifts will be. If you can’t exactly match the hours and days we are looking for, this can be discussed. We are always happy to hear from you.

The Role

Our customers will be your main focus, and everything you do will be with their shopping experience in mind. We are looking for hardworking individuals with a flare for excellent customer service and food. As a Specialist Customer Assistant, we currently have vacancies in our Cafe and on our Counters:

Counters

As part of our Counters team, you will be working on our Raw, Cheese, Deli and Hot Counters with a variety of meat, fish and dairy products. You will have high degree of customer interaction and should therefore have a friendly, polite and approachable manner. Experience is preferable but not essential as full training will be given. Working hours will be between 7am - 8.30pm.

Cafe

As a member of our Café team you could be supporting in the kitchen making items from the menu or working as part of the Front of House team making beverages, serving customers or keeping on top of cleanliness within the dining area. Working hours will be between 7am - 6.30pm.
