Shap Chippy is an award-winning fish and chip restaurant and takeaway located in the beautiful village of Shap, Cumbria. We pride ourselves on serving exceptional food and delivering outstanding customer service. Due to continued success, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Cook / Fryer to join our team.
About the Role
As a Cook / Fryer, you will play a key role in maintaining the high standards that our customers have come to expect. You will be responsible for cooking and frying products using our state-of-the-art frying range while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Full training will be provided to successful candidates to ensure all food is prepared and cooked to the award-winning standards of Shap Chippy.

- Operating and maintaining our modern frying equipment
- Working effectively under pressure during busy service periods
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are always met

Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in frying or kitchen cooking (preferred but not essential)
- Is willing to learn and follow our proven methods and standards
- Can work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Possesses excellent communication skills
- Enjoys working as part of a team to achieve shared goals
- Takes pride in producing high-quality food
- Is reliable, hardworking and has a positive attitude
