About the Role
A.W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd is seeking an experienced LGV Traffic Controller to join our busy Transport Office in Penrith.
This is a full-time, fully office-based role, working 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, inclusive.
It’s a fast-paced, hands-on position that suits someone who enjoys problem‑solving and working as part of a team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and managing collections and deliveries for flatbed and chipliner trailers
- Producing efficient route plans to maximise vehicle utilisation and minimise empty running and costs
- Ensuring full compliance with drivers’ hours, tachograph legislation, and health & safety requirements
- Liaising professionally with customers, drivers, and internal teams to maintain excellent communication
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure operational targets and service levels are met
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in an LGV traffic or transport planning role for flatbed and chipliner operations
- A strong working knowledge of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations
- Excellent route planning, organisational, and navigation skills
- A calm, practical approach to problem‑solving in a busy environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
