To provide a professional quality control service to internal and external customers and stakeholders by monitoring the safety and quality of the manufacture of animal by-products into high quality rendered meal & oil and supply as ingredient materials to international pet food, animal feed & biodiesel manufacturers through appropriate testing, auditing and reporting, in line with food standards.
Main duties and responsibilities
· Carry out test on raw materials
· Testing product batches for Ash, Fat, Moisture, Protein, Pepsin Digestibility, Peroxide Value, Sensory Analysis, Phosphorus Free Fatty Acid & Nitrogen, environmental samples and any other products as required by sampling schedule and the lab supervisor
· Water treatment plant testing (COD, Ammonia & Suspended Solids)
· Investigating poor batch results and report findings collaborating with the QA manager/lab supervisor for the investigation of customer complaints.
· Carrying out internal audits within the production environment
· Accurately record all findings;
· Carrying out traceability exercises as required by QA Manager
· Escalation of abnormal test results with prompt reporting of deviations
· Maintain comprehensive reports and paperwork in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP);
· Batching products according to customer specification and senior managers instructions
· Liaise with key stakeholders to continually improve processes and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
· Laboratory experience
· Knowledge of working to quality standards
· Qualification in a science based or related subject
· Previous experience, though full training will be provided
