We are hugely excited to present a new role for our Acute Medical Unit. The unit has been under a significant change process recently with the creation of our "medical rapid assessment and treatment area" allowing us to care for the "medical take" in the unit for the first time in years. AMU is a fast paced high energy ward, seeing large amounts of patients who are often undifferentiated in their care journey. We have created a new senior role for the unit of a Sister or Charge nurse who will run the shift (days and nights). UIf you have significant experience in leadership and managing a busy environment this this role may be for you.
We would love to hear from highly motivated senior nurses with who can fulfil the following criteria:
Degree level of education (or working towards) / or relevant demonstrable experience
Current experience of clinical leadership in acute medicine or emergency care
Current NMC registrant.
Post-registration qualification in emergency care – for example - ATNC/ATCC /ALS
Post registration education qualification (or working towards) and mentorship qualification.
This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week.
The leadership element of this role is essential and candidates must be able to demonstrate their skills to:
- Be a role model / effective leader
- Exercise leadership skills to act as a catalyst for change.
- Develop and co-ordinate effective team working
- Communicate on a regular basis with team regarding trust objectives, plans & business developments
