As demand continues to grow, we're looking for a Solar PV & Battery Storage Surveyor to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced solar installer, electrician or technical sales professional who's ready to step into a more customer-focused position, designing renewable energy systems, carrying out site surveys and providing tailored solutions for homeowners.
Working from our office in Scorrier, you'll be responsible for surveying properties, advising customers, producing accurate quotations and supporting projects from initial enquiry through to installation.
The Role
You'll visit domestic properties throughout Cornwall to survey, design and quote for:
- Solar PV systems
- Battery storage systems
- Hybrid inverter installations
- EV charger installations
- Whole-home backup systems
- Energy management and smart home solutions
Working closely with our office team and installation engineers, you'll ensure every system is designed correctly, quoted accurately and delivered to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed site surveys
- Assess roofs, electrical installations and customer energy usage
- Design efficient solar PV and battery storage systems
- Recommend the most suitable products based on each customer's needs
- Prepare accurate quotations using our design and estimating software
- Present proposals clearly and professionally to customers
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations, DNO requirements and MCS standards
- Liaise with installation teams throughout each project
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience from first appointment through to handover
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within the solar PV or electrical industry
- Good understanding of domestic electrical systems
- Knowledge of solar PV and battery storage systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience carrying out solar surveys
- Experience using Easy PV, OpenSolar or similar design software
- Knowledge of MCS standards and DNO applications
- Experience with leading manufacturers such as Sigenergy, Tesla, GivEnergy, SolarEdge, Enphase or Fronius
- Electrical qualifications or previous installation experience
