Full job description

Discovery Stone is a stone fabrication business based in Broughty Ferry specialising in premium stone surfaces for kitchens, bathrooms, commercial spaces, and outdoor projects. We work with kitchen studios, designers, house developers and joiners across Scotland.

Overview
The Production Planner will play a key role in coordinating and scheduling the workflow from design and templating stage to manufacture and installation. They must ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards, with regular communication with customers.

This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, a focus on product quality and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Plan and schedule production jobs
Coordinate workloads across templating, cutting, polishing, and fitting teams
Manage installation schedules and delivery timelines
Monitor production capacity and prioritise urgent jobs
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
Ensure accurate job tracking and production documentation
Update and maintain production planning systems
Identify workflow bottlenecks and improve efficiency
Assist with stock and material planning where required
Support with production quality checks

Skills

Experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations coordination
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Good computer skills including excel and scheduling systems
High attention to detail

Desirable

Experience within the stone worktop fabrication, kitchens, or manufacturing industry

Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
