Role Overview
We are a growing construction and M&E company based in Peterborough seeking a Bid Writer / Tender Coordinator to support the preparation and submission of public and private sector tenders. We are seeking someone to deliver all aspects of the role and become involved in writing structured responses, coordinating documentation, and supporting the company’s growth into larger contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating high-quality, persuasive written responses for pre-qualification and tender bid submissions on construction and M&E projects
- Ensuring responses are tailored and aligned with client requirements and deadlines
- Editing draft submissions to enhance content and ensure clarity and impact
- Managing tender portals and submission deadlines
- Coordinating policies, certifications, and compliance documents
- Developing bid templates and reusable content
- Driving continuous improvement through lessons learned and post-tender reviews.
- Maintaining and developing bid library content, case studies, and supporting collateral information.
- Supporting KPI, methodology, and delivery sections
- Reviewing tender requirements and scoring criteria
- Assisting with capability statements and case studies
Requirements
- Proven experience in bid writing or tender coordination within the construction or renewable energy sectors
- A strong understanding of the delivery of mechanical and electrical services in the public and commercial sectors
- Knowledge of social value, sustainability and decarbonisation requirements within public-sector procurement.
- Excellent written communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines without compromising quality.
- Meticulous with a sharp eye for detail and have excellent proof-reading skills.
- Bring creativity and a high attention to detail to your work
- Have a degree or equivalent in English or a subject with a strong focus on storytelling and writing.
- Excellent IT skills, specifically in Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- APMP qualification or equivalent bid/proposal management training
- Understanding of KPI frameworks
- Knowledge of construction / M&E terminology
- Experience working with tender portals
