Full job description

We’re working with a growing specialist property finance lender who are expanding their credit function and looking to appoint a Senior Underwriter to play a key role in deal structuring, credit decisioning and team development.

This is a hands-on role with real influence — ideal for someone who enjoys complex lending, taking ownership of decisions and mentoring junior talent.

The Opportunity

Lead underwriting on bridging & development finance transactions
Structure and assess complex deals from enquiry through to completion
Present credit papers and contribute at Credit Committee level
Support and mentor a Junior Underwriter
Play a key role in improving underwriting processes as the business scales

What You’ll Be Doing

Assess new lending opportunities in line with credit appetite
Analyse borrower strength, financials and exit strategies
Review valuations, IMS reports and supporting documentation
Structure deals with clear risk mitigation
Manage transactions through to completion and first drawdown
Monitor live loans including development drawdowns
Build strong relationships with brokers, borrowers and external partners
Act as an escalation point for complex cases

What They’re Looking For

Strong background in bridging and/or development finance underwriting
Proven ability to structure and assess deals independently
Experience presenting credit papers and supporting committee decisions
Commercial mindset with sound credit judgement
Comfortable managing multiple deals and stakeholders
Previous mentoring or leadership experience is a plus
