Outline of the role:
We’re looking for a Court Officer to join our team covering Peterhead and Banff Sheriff & JP Courts on a part time, permanent basis on an average 10.25 hour week (10 hours 15 minutes) comprising of the following 4 week work pattern: Week 1: non-working week (0 hours). Week 2: Tuesday – Thursday for 7 hours per day (21 hours) (08:30 – 16:30). Week 3: Thursday (6 hours) (09:00 – 16:00) Week 4: Wednesday and Thursday for 7 hours per day (14 hours) (08:30 – 16:30).
Please note that as there is regular travel required between both Peterhead and Banff Sheriff & JP Courts, a full drivers license is preferred.
This role is based fully on-site in the court. As a Court Officer, you will support the delivery of court hearings, working alongside members of the judiciary and legal professionals to ensure proceedings are conducted safely and efficiently.

Prepare courtrooms and support Sheriffs during proceedings
- Welcome and guide witnesses, jurors, professionals and members of the public
- Support the safe and orderly running of the court building
- Assist with courtroom technology, including audio‑visual equipment
- Handle documents, productions and general admin tasks
- Work closely with colleagues, Police Scotland, GEOAmey and partner services.
