We are seeking a motivated Trainee Upholsterer and Tuber to join our team.
Stitched Up Upholstery Limited is a rapidly expanding company with an excellent reputation providing services such as:
Car interior upholstery.
Motorcycle upholstery.
Boat upholstery and ferry’s.
Off-shore protective equipment.
Boat covers and sails.
RHIB Re-Tubing.
We serve both our Domestic and commercial clients and due to expanding growth we are now looking to take on apprentices with a willingness to learn a new trade.
This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills in upholstery, fabricating, and assembly within a dynamic workshop environment. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience and training in various aspects of upholstery work and , with potential for career progression. A keen interest in craftsmanship, a willingness to learn, and physical stamina are essential for this role.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation and cutting of fabrics and materials for upholstery projects and retubing.
- Learn to operate hand tools, power tools, and sewing machines under supervision.
- Support the assembly and fitting of upholstery components onto furniture or vehicle seats.
- Participate in fabricating custom pieces according to strict specifications.
- Help with the organisation and maintenance of tools and workshop areas
- Undertake heavy lifting of materials and finished products as required
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently during all tasks and undertake COSHH course, paid for by us - online course.
- Contribute to quality control checks to ensure high standards of workmanship at all times.
Experience
- No prior professional experience required; training will be provided on all tasks
- A background or interest in mechanical knowledge, sewing, fabrication, or warehouse operations is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or assembly processes is desirable but not essential
- Previous warehouse experience or involvement in heavy lifting activities will be considered a plus
- Candidates should demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning new skills and working as part of a team
- Driving licence or the ability to be able to get to work on time is a MUST.

As this is a customer facing role you will be required to provide a PVG and background checks. We can help with this Should you be successful.
The apprenticeship will initially last for 12 Months extending to 24 Months after your probation period. Once fully trained you can expect to earn between £18.50 - 22.60 Per hour.
