Bar Manager – Greenside Cricket Club
Greenside Cricket Club is looking for a new Bar Manager to take full control of our bar operations.
The bar is our primary revenue stream and the engine room for our future growth. We have ambitious plans for the club, and we need a proactive manager who is ready to take ownership and turn our bar into a high-performing, successful asset.
This is a blank canvas. We are looking for someone with the expertise and drive to take charge, trial and implement new food and/or drink offerings, and make the bar a place the community wants to be.
The Role
You will have full accountability for the bar’s performance. You will report directly to the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, with the creative freedom to run things your way, provided it’s profitable and professional.
Your core responsibilities include:
Commercial Ownership: You are responsible for all revenue, stock control, and P&L management. You’ll be encouraged to drive footfall through new ideas and promotions, particularly outside of standard match days.
Operational Control: Full management of staff rotas, daily bar operations, and stock procurement.
Creative Freedom: You have a kitchen at your disposal and full autonomy to trial and implement new food and/or drink offerings, provided you clear your plans with the committee.
Compliance: Ensuring we are fully compliant with licensing laws, health and safety, and food hygiene standards.
Events: Planning and delivering a vibrant calendar of events that brings people into the club.
Who You Are
We are looking for someone with a strong background in hospitality who knows how to manage a professional, profitable environment.
Experienced: You bring a track record of success in bar management and understand how to run a tight, efficient operation.
Engaged Leader: You enjoy being at the heart of the action. You lead by example and are comfortable interacting with members and guests during our busiest times.
Ambitious: You are motivated by growth and looking for an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the club’s long-term sustainability.
Organised: You take pride in managing the details, from rotas and supplier relationships to daily stock maintenance.
Logistics
Reporting: You will report to the Committee, managed directly by the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.
Hours: We offer a flexible working arrangement. As a social hub, the role naturally centers around evenings, weekends, and match days when the club is at its most vibrant.
Requirements: Previous management experience is essential to hit the ground running. A Personal Licence is preferred.
