IntraHealth is one of the UK’s leading providers of NHS Primary and Community Care services. We serve a range of patients across our three divisions of Primary Care (general practice), Pharmacy and Clinical Services which includes anticoagulation monitoring, patient medication reviews and childhood immunisation programmes.

We also provide management and clinical support to other GP practices and NHS bodies. We are a well-established organisation having provided NHS services since the company was founded in 1999. Our team is made up of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), Nurses, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Health Care Assistants (HCAs) and local administration teams supported by a centralised back office function, providing finance, HR, administration and data analysis support.

We operate NHS services across the North East, North West and Yorkshire.

IntraHealth are currently recruiting for a Salaried General Medical Practitioner to help deliver our vision of high-quality medical services at our well-established, progressive, friendly practice team in South Shields.

We are progressive and dynamic, embracing new technology and new ways of working ranging from daily telephone triage to video and e-consultations. We offer a flexible approach to division of roles and responsibilities within our small friendly and experienced practice team. The clinical teams are also well supported by an excellent administration and management team; this allows our GPs to concentrate on clinical work. You will be a team player who is keen to support and contribute to our program of continuous improvements and weekly clinical meetings and work with us to ensure we maintain our high QOF results.

Our aim is to provide an excellent standard of primary care whilst supporting personal and professional development. Our people are our most valued asset and we encourage our GPs to develop their skills and interests locally and within the wider organisation.

Opportunities for role progression and personal development - teaching opportunities including becoming a GP trainer, develop specialist clinical skills (e.g., women's health, vasectomies, diabetes, minor ops), leadership opportunities to medical director level
Excellent in-house support from practice nurse practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Mental Health Practitioner, Social Prescribers, GP assistant and GP Aligned CPN.
Medication reviews and hospital medications changes actioned by Clinical Pharmacists reducing GP workload
Scanning team deal with most coding and actioning of letters so GPs only see their own letters or queries
In house visiting service so GPs only visit when on call
We actively encourage participation in practice decisions and service developments through weekly practice meeting
We support flexible working patterns and part-time working therefore would encourage applicants who wish to combine a clinical role with other professional or personal commitments.
We provide peer support, educational opportunities and help towards mandatory training and appraisal.
