Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cookery School Chef to lead culinary training sessions and oversee kitchen operations within our esteemed cookery school. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional food education. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire aspiring chefs while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Cookery School Chef will be responsible for supervising kitchen activities, managing a team, and ensuring all food preparation meets our rigorous standards.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise cooking classes, demonstrations, and practical sessions for students of varying skill levels
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
Prepare ingredients and assist in the creation of diverse culinary dishes for classes and events
Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a collaborative environment
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout all kitchen activities
Coordinate with administrative staff to plan menus, class schedules, and special events
Serve as a role model in professionalism, hospitality, and culinary excellence

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen or culinary training environment
Extensive food production and preparation skills across various cuisines
Strong team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively
Excellent cooking skills complemented by solid kitchen experience in hospitality or restaurant settings
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure
Deep understanding of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Experience in food service or serving within a hospitality context is advantageous
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to instruct and inspire learners of all levels
A passion for culinary arts combined with a commitment to delivering engaging educational experiences

Pay: £12.71-£20.00 per hour
