Police Support Volunteer – External Scrutiny Assistant
Location: Cleveland Police Central Headquarters, Hemlington
Cleveland Police is seeking committed and friendly individuals who can spare a few hours a week to volunteer their services as an External Scrutiny Assistant Volunteer. This role is based at Cleveland Police Central Headquarters at Hemlington but can be performed from other police locations or flexibly from home.
As an External Scrutiny Assistant Volunteer you will provide administrative support for the planning of External Public Scrutiny Panels. These panels allow key stakeholders and members of the public to watch police body-worn video footage showing the use of police tactics like stop and search.
The volunteer will arrange suitable meeting locations that are independent of the police and maintain a list of panel applicants. This role will require evening work.
Applicants must have good communication skills, especially over the telephone as they will be required to communicate vetting decisions to panel applicants.
Excellent organisational skills and knowledge of Microsoft office are essential.
For further details please contact Oliver Deluce via 01642 306979 or [email protected]
Interviews are due to take place towards the end of July/beginning of August.
If your application is successful, we'll ask that you complete a Non-Police Personnel Vetting form, applicants should be aware that it is not always possible to complete these vetting checks on persons who have not been resident in the UK for the last three years. Where this applies, applicants may be refused on the grounds that it was not possible to vet them to the required standard.
Cleveland Police is committed to improving the diversity of its workforce to better reflect the communities we serve. We welcome applications from all minority groups and individuals who identify with one or more of the protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010. All appointments will be made on merit.
