Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support optometrists and opticians in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient inquiries, managing laboratory tasks, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the optical practice. A strong understanding of anatomy and laboratory experience will be advantageous in fulfilling the duties of this position.

Responsibilities

Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of prescriptions and treatments.
Provide information to patients regarding eyewear options, lens types, and care instructions.
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the optical laboratory and examination rooms.
Support the fitting and adjustment of spectacles to ensure proper alignment and comfort.
Handle laboratory tasks including lens edging, tinting, and coating as required.
Address patient queries in a professional manner, ensuring a high level of customer service.

Skills

Previous laboratory experience is desirable .
Strong knowledge of human anatomy, particularly related to the eye, is beneficial.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in measurements and patient records.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with a willingness to learn new techniques. Join our team as an Optical Assistant where your contributions will play a vital role in enhancing our patients' visual health and overall experience.
