Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial management activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in financial accounting and management, who are eager to contribute to organisational growth and efficiency. The business operates internationally, with a subsidiary in Germany, so international accounting experience would be greatly beneficial.
Duties
Ensuring that the bookkeeping and payroll operations run smoothly and efficiently
Managing the internal accounts team
Preparing monthly management accounts and other financial documents, including annual budgets, forecasts and reforecasts (with accurate departmental input) for MD & Board approval
Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly figures and presenting findings to the Management Team & Board.
Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts.
Measuring the company’s financial performance based on financial records
Ensuring financial and business regulation compliance for both NHBS Ltd. and our German subsidiary, NHBS GmbH (supported by our German financial advisors)
Identifying problem areas and making recommendations to the Managing Director
Evaluating and monitoring financial information systems and recommending improvements
Communicating and interpreting financial data for managers and the board
Driving the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
Credit control setting, amending and reviewing.
People Management, appraisals, colleague development, absence, Holidays (commercial calendar)
Understanding of EC sales, including VAT rates with cross-border sales, and FX transactions
Skills
- A good knowledge of financial tools
- A strong background in basic accounting and financial management
- Experience in cash flow management, business processes, financial data processing and bookkeeping
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership and business management skills
- The ability to work well in a team
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and accounting software programs
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and analytical
- Ability to analyse and summarise complex information
- A knowledge of and interest in ecology and conservation.
- AAT level 4, ACA, ACCA.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £43,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 30.0 per week
