Job Description:
Securewest is seeking a Global Responder to join our Global Response Centre (GRC) team, providing first-line support and emergency response for our travel risk and maritime clients, in line with established protocols and procedures. Based in Plymouth, this desk-based role involves using our risk management platform to monitor the position of vessels, assets, and personnel, and identify emerging risks. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and work on a four on, four off shift pattern, including nights and weekends.
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and responding to emergency maritime alerts (SSAS) for Securewest’s maritime clients. (SSAS Platforms Monitoring Platforms)
- Conducting managed testing of vessel SSAS equipment. (SSAS Monitoring Platforms)
- Monitoring and responding to incidents for Securewest’s Travel Risk clients. (Sphere Travel Risk Management Platform)
- Incident response and management following defined protocols for SSAS and Travel Risk.
- Processing of medical support enquiries
- Processing of documentation, phone calls and email correspondence
- Gathering of maritime incident intelligence for issue to clients (MAC Alerts)
Essential Skills:
- An exceptional communicator both verbally (telephone manner) and written in this client facing role
- Comprehensive IT skills covering the Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
- Organised with strong administration skills
- Ability to work under pressure and good decision-making skills and problem solving
- Enthusiastic, able to learn new tasks quickly, and work under minimal supervision
- Able to work a rotational shift pattern, working 12-hour shifts. Four days on, four days off, four nights on and four off.
Desirable (however, full training will be provided for the right person):
- Previous experience in a control room or emergency response environment.
